If you are planning a wedding for 2027 or 2028, one of the questions you may already be asking is:
How much should we budget for our wedding flowers?
It is one of the questions I am asked most often, and understandably so. Unless you regularly buy flowers for weddings and events, it can be difficult to know what different levels of investment actually create.
At Amega Fleur Floral Design, we create wedding flowers for couples across Essex, Suffolk, the East of England and beyond. Every wedding is individually designed, so there is no single figure that will be right for every couple.
Your venue, guest numbers, floral priorities, flower choices, season, scale of the designs and the amount of installation required all influence the overall investment.
The aim of this guide is therefore not to give you a fixed package or price list. It is to give you a realistic starting point for planning your 2027 or 2028 wedding flowers.
How Much Should You Budget for Wedding Flowers?
As a general planning guide, couples often allocate around 10 to 15% of their overall wedding budget to flowers.
If flowers are going to be a significant part of the visual experience of your wedding, perhaps with statement ceremony flowers, abundant reception designs or larger installations, you may choose to allocate closer to 20 to 25%.
These percentages are only a guide.
One couple may want beautiful personal flowers and relatively simple venue flowers. Another may want guests to walk into a ceremony transformed with flowers, followed by a reception filled with floral design.
Neither is the “right” way to have wedding flowers.
The important question is:
How Do You Want Your Wedding Day to Feel?
Before thinking about individual arrangements, I always encourage couples to think about the atmosphere they want to create.
Do you want your wedding to feel:
Romantic and intimate?
Relaxed and natural?
Elegant and refined?
Joyful and full of colour?
Dramatic and unforgettable?
That gives us a much stronger starting point than simply working through a shopping list of bouquets, buttonholes and centrepieces.
Flowers have the ability to completely change how a space feels. Understanding the moments that matter most to you helps us decide where your floral investment will have the greatest impact.
Wedding Flowers, Your Way
At Amega Fleur, we do not believe every couple needs exactly the same wedding flowers.
Some couples need personal flowers and a few beautifully considered designs.
Others want support creating a cohesive floral look across their ceremony and reception.
And some weddings involve large spaces, marquees, suspended flowers or substantial installations that require considerably more planning, design and installation.
Our work is tailored around your wedding, your venue, your priorities and the experience you want to create.
The following figures are therefore investment examples rather than packages.
They are intended to help you understand what different budgets might achieve.
Around £1,000 to £1,500
For a smaller or more intimate wedding, this level of investment may focus predominantly on personal flowers.
Depending on the size of the wedding party and your flower choices, this could include a bridal bouquet, bridesmaids' bouquets and buttonholes, perhaps with a smaller floral element for the ceremony or reception.
Keeping the number of different designs focused allows the flowers that are included to retain the quality and finish we want for an Amega Fleur wedding.
Around £1,500 to £2,500
This gives more flexibility to combine personal flowers with some ceremony or reception styling.
For example, you might choose personal flowers alongside bud vases or smaller table designs, or decide to concentrate more of the investment on one beautiful ceremony feature.
The exact balance depends very much on your guest numbers and venue.
Around £2,500 to £3,500+
At this level, there is greater opportunity to consider the wedding as a whole.
You may be looking at personal flowers together with a stronger ceremony focal point and selected reception flowers, perhaps using bud vases, candles, floral table designs or designs that can move from one part of the day to another.
This is also where thoughtful repurposing can become particularly valuable.
Around £3,500 to £5,000+
The floral design can begin to play a much more significant role in the overall look of the wedding.
You might include personal flowers, statement ceremony designs, more considered reception styling and larger floral features.
Rather than simply adding flowers everywhere, we would look at where those designs will have the most visual impact.
Around £5,000 to £7,500+
This level of investment allows us to create a more abundant floral experience across the day.
It may include statement ceremony flowers, aisle designs, larger installations, flowers for your reception tables and carefully planned designs that can be repurposed as your celebration moves from one space to another.
Guest numbers become particularly important here. The same £5,000 investment can create a very different result for a wedding of 60 guests compared with a wedding of 120.
£7,500 and Beyond
For weddings where flowers are one of the central design elements, the investment can extend considerably beyond £7,500.
This may include large scale floral installations, abundant ceremony flowers, suspended designs, marquee floristry, extensive table flowers, entrances and other bespoke floral moments throughout the celebration.
At this level, floristry becomes part of the overall visual design of the wedding rather than a collection of individual arrangements.
Again, these figures are not packages. They are simply intended to help you begin thinking realistically about what different levels of floral investment can create.
What Affects the Cost of Wedding Flowers?
There is much more behind a wedding flower quotation than the number of stems you can see in the finished design.
A few of the things that influence your investment include:
The flowers themselves. Varieties, quality, seasonality and availability all affect price. Premium flowers can make a noticeable difference to the cost of a design.
The scale of the design. A floral meadow, arch or large urn arrangement requires considerably more flowers, mechanics and design time than a smaller arrangement.
Your guest numbers. More tables naturally mean more floral designs, containers, candles and installation time.
Your venue. A beautiful historic room may require very little additional decoration, while a marquee or large blank space may need more floral design to create the atmosphere you want.
Installation and labour. Your quotation also needs to account for preparing the flowers, conditioning, designing, loading, travel, installation and, where required, returning to dismantle and collect designs.
The logistics of your day. Moving ceremony flowers into your wedding breakfast or reception needs to be planned carefully and may require additional team members.

Can Wedding Flowers Be Repurposed?
Very often, yes.
We regularly consider how flowers can have more than one moment during a wedding day.
Ceremony arrangements might later frame your seating plan, top table or reception entrance. Urns may be repositioned into another space. Floral meadows can sometimes be separated and used elsewhere.
It is something we plan at the design stage because not every floral installation can be moved safely or successfully.

Sustainable Wedding Flowers Without Compromising on Design
Sustainability is considered throughout the way we work at Amega Fleur.
We use British grown flowers when they are seasonally available and appropriate for the design, alongside carefully sourced imported flowers where required.
We consider the mechanics used to create our designs, reduce unnecessary single use materials, reuse containers and structures wherever possible and plan opportunities to repurpose flowers throughout the day.
For us, sustainability is not about creating less beautiful wedding flowers.
It is about making considered choices while still creating the quality, scale and finish our clients expect.
Quality Over Quantity
When planning a flower budget, it can be tempting to try to include something everywhere.
In practice, that can dilute the overall impact.
We would often rather create one beautiful floral focal point than spread the same budget thinly across many smaller designs.
That might mean investing in the ceremony flowers that will frame one of the most important moments of the day, creating an unforgettable entrance, or putting more emphasis on the wedding breakfast where you and your guests will spend several hours.
It is about choosing where flowers matter most to you.
