At Amega Fleur Floral Design, we believe beautiful floristry and environmental responsibility should work hand in hand with the wishes and vision of our couples. As a floral design studio specialising in weddings and events, we recognise the impact the floristry and wedding industries can have on the environment and are committed to making conscious, responsible, and sustainable choices across all areas of our business that are aligned with the budgets of our couples.

PLANET
Seasonal & Responsible Sourcing
Where possible we prioritise British grown seasonal flowers when available and support local flower growers and suppliers wherever possible.
We recognise that many flowers and foliages used within the wedding industry are imported due to seasonal availability, client requirements, and global growing conditions. Where imported flowers are used, we aim to source responsibly from growers and suppliers who demonstrate recognised environmental and ethical standards.
We also grow selected foliages within our own garden and studio environment to reduce transportation impacts and support biodiversity.
Sustainable Floristry Mechanics & Materials
We will continue the commitment to zero use of single-use floristry materials.
Our approach includes:
-
Using biodegradable floral foam where required.
-
Using floral fibre, reusable mechanics, chicken wire, moss, twigs, frog pin holders, reusable frames, glass vessels, and natural mechanics etc. wherever possible.
-
Reusing arches, chandeliers, pedestals, stands, containers, and display props for multiple events.
Waste Reduction & Recycling
We carefully plan and order flowers and materials to minimise waste and unnecessary stock holding.
Our waste reduction practices include:
-
Composting or recycling green floral waste.
-
Recycling cardboard, paper, plastics, and packaging materials.
-
Reusing trays, boxes, water vials, containers, and sundries wherever practical.
-
Returning large cardboard boxes to wholesalers for reuse where possible.
-
Donating surplus flowers, candles and other materials to local community organisations when appropriate.
Packaging & Presentation
We aim to reduce unnecessary packaging and replace traditional plastic-based materials with more environmentally conscious alternatives.
This includes:
-
Using recyclable, reusable, compostable, or biodegradable packaging where practical.
-
Continuing the zero use of cellophane and single-use plastic wrapping.
-
Using eco wraps, glassine, jute mesh fabric, recyclable boxes, biodegradable cellophane, and recyclable presentation materials.
-
Using wooden card picks instead of plastic alternatives where possible.
Carbon Emissions & Transport
We aim to reduce the carbon footprint associated with our operations and deliveries by:
-
Planning delivery routes carefully to minimise unnecessary travel and fuel use.
-
Working predominantly within a local geographical area.
-
Maintaining partnerships with local venues and businesses where possible.
-
Reviewing opportunities for lower-emission transportation and improved operational efficiency.

We seek to reduce unnecessary energy and water consumption across our studio operations.
This includes:

-
Avoid practices that negatively impact natural habitats wherever possible.
